"Fruitbowl" w/c 6x8 inches

"Fruitbowl" line and wash - a style that is accepted by most pro painters that I know. Kinda loose and interpretive. Start with the pen (no room for correction), then add a wash of colour here and there.

"Villatoile" w/c 7.5 x 9.5 inches.

When Theard van Heerde and Simone went on a camping and cycling trip they took a photograph of Villatoile in Dinant - Belgium. They gave me permission to paint this.

I just like the ancient architecture with the imaginative brickwork topping the stone walls.

Tribute to Gustav Klimt

Klimt, who died in 1918, had a great influence on modern painting. He painted the faces realistically although he went wild with the backgrounds - most of them gold and graphic. I have been studying Klimt, Schiele, and more recently Kobayashi and Liepke. This is my study of the Klimt style with thanks to a contemporary ultra successful American artist who has given me permission to post this image of her on my blog.

"Holland Wave" acrylic 8x10

This was my entry for the Opus Outdoor Challenge. It is the gap in the rocks at Holland Point, Victoria BC. The snow tops are on the Olympic Mountains across the water in the USA. We are in Canada. Nice neighbours, eh. I even won a prize at this event.
