"House in the Fraser Valley" postcard size, gouache

"House in the Fraser Valley"

Gouache is like watercolour but has more body, giving a nice flat opaque appearance. I am doing well with it now after a few first tentative attempts.

And this image comes from my own visit to this exciting part of British Columbia. I hope you enjoy the vision before you.

"Coco" gouache postcard size 2021

Beloved pet of the Ingbritsons, Coco was quite a character - almost a mensch, one could say...
Painted with my new set of gouache paints. I'm getting used to the new medium now.

"BMW 3-Wheeler" postcard size

These babies are TINY and you have to open the front in order tp get in, in fact the steering wheel collapses to one side to help you...gouache on watercolour paper postcard size.

"Alongside" oil 24 x 30

Neighbours at anchor in the Pacific Northwest. The weather is good, the winds are calm for good sailing. We are out of the shallows and we are safely in the bay, flags flying.

"Blue VW" gouache

Experimenting with my brand-new gouache paint I did this Blue Volksie today - I like the matt finish of this paint, it looks as though it was done with chalk - such is the opacity of the paint.

 I like it. Postcard size.

"Blue Jib"

"Blue Jib"

Carol Marine uses oils and gouache. This latter medium sounds great so I bought myself a set from Amazon (very quick delivery) and set about using it on plain MDF, no canvas or gesso. I was surprised how quickly it dried into a  nice mat finish. Click to enlarge the image.

"Schooner off Friday Harbor" Washington State

Schooners in British Columbia and indeed Washington State are a joy to behold. They cut such a grand image on our seaways. This painting is  new for 2021 and the size is the classic 8 x 10 inches in oils. Contact me for details. Find me by searching artist Ron Wilson.
