"Pompano Fish" oil on board 8x10

We saw Pompano at the deepfreeze of our local store - highly recommended for eating.
Great colours for an artist. Great for painting loosely.

"Sossies" (sausages) oil on board 8x10

I painted these sausages with a single battered brush.
Oil on reclaimed hardboard, coated with gesso.

Cooked!

"Sossies" (with a pork chop)

(South African slang for sausages)

I have always wanted to paint like this. But afraid 'cos I know many won't like the style. Loose.

Still, as the song says, I gotta be me...this is tonight's braai (barbecue).

"Dallas Road Cliff, Rail Fence" oil on stretched canvas 16" x 20"

Oil sketch  above, actual photo below.

This scene is most visited by local Victorians in BC. A lot of dog owners let their pets run hassle-free, and artists love it for the many scenes to paint in the area.

My family says my painting isn't finished but I know it is because when artists have realized their intentions - it's DONE!
